Solana Captures 28% of Weekly Tokenized Commodities Volume
Solana has taken the top spot in weekly tokenized commodities spot trading for the first time, accounting for 28% of total volume during the week of September 21–27.
Solana recorded approximately $91.1 million in tokenized commodities spot volume during the period, compared with $81.3 million for Robinhood, which represented 25% of the tracked market. Total weekly volume across the tracked platforms reached approximately $322.7 million.
The shift marks a notable change in the distribution of tokenized commodity trading, as Solana's share increased from roughly 5% to 28% over four weeks. The figures show how quickly trading activity around tokenized real-world assets can move between blockchain networks and platforms.

Gold Remains the Main Tokenized Commodity
The increase in Solana's tokenized commodities activity has largely been connected to gold-backed assets. Gold remains the dominant segment of the broader tokenized commodities market, with products representing physical gold accounting for much of the trading activity.
Among the assets tracked during the week, PAXG recorded $10.89 million in volume, followed by GLDx at $10.12 million, XAUT0 at $8.98 million, XAUM at $6.71 million, and GOLD at $2.46 million.
Paxos: PAXG on Solana
Paxos describes PAXG as a digital token representing one fine troy ounce of physical gold, with the underlying gold held in LBMA-accredited vaults. Paxos expanded PAXG to Solana in June 2026, adding the network to its multi-chain strategy.
The broader tokenized commodities market has also expanded significantly. CoinGecko's 2026 RWA research found that tokenized commodities reached approximately $5.55 billion in market capitalization by the end of Q1 2026, with gold-backed tokens such as PAXG and XAUT accounting for most of the sector's growth.

Solana's Tokenized Commodity Supply Reaches New High
Solana's growing trading activity comes alongside an expansion in the network's tokenized commodity supply.
The supply of tokenized commodities on Solana reached an all-time high of approximately $50.5 million on August 25, according to the supplied market data. It has since declined to around $45.6 million, meaning the amount of tokenized commodity assets on the network remains below its peak even as trading activity has accelerated.
The difference between asset supply and trading volume is important. A network can record substantial spot activity without holding an equivalent amount of assets outstanding, because the same tokenized assets can change hands multiple times during a reporting period.
Solana itself has increasingly positioned the network as infrastructure for real-world assets. Its official RWA materials list tokenized treasuries, ETFs, metals, commodities and equities among the asset categories operating on the network.

Solana Also Reclaims Weekly DEX Volume Lead
The tokenized commodities milestone coincided with another change in Solana's broader trading activity.
During the same period, Solana reclaimed the lead in weekly spot DEX volume, accounting for approximately 39% of tracked activity. Its position in the broader decentralized-exchange market was supported by continued activity in the network's highly active token markets.
Memecoin trading also became more concentrated on Solana during the period. Solana's share of memecoin DEX volume increased from approximately 51% to 80%, while Robinhood accounted for about 13%.
The figures highlight the different markets contributing to Solana's overall onchain trading activity. Tokenized commodities represent a relatively small segment compared with the network's wider DEX ecosystem, but the move into the top position gives Solana a larger role in the emerging market for blockchain-based representations of traditional commodities.
Tokenization Is Expanding Across Solana
The rise in tokenized commodity trading comes as Solana continues expanding its infrastructure for real-world assets.
Solana's tokenization documentation describes the network as supporting the issuance and operation of tokenized assets, including compliance-oriented features such as transfer restrictions, pausability, confidential transfers and permanent delegates.

The network has also developed a broader ecosystem around tokenized securities, funds, commodities and other traditional financial assets. Its official real-world-assets page highlights tokenized metals and commodities alongside equities, ETFs and treasury products.

This infrastructure gives issuers and market participants a way to bring traditional assets onto a blockchain while maintaining programmable settlement and onchain transfer capabilities.
Why the Trading Shift Matters
Solana's 28% share of weekly tokenized commodities spot volume does not mean the network has become the largest tokenized commodities market by assets under management. Instead, it represents a weekly trading-volume milestone during the September 21–27 period.
That distinction matters because tokenized asset markets can have large differences between outstanding supply, market capitalization and trading volume. CoinGecko's broader market data tracks these metrics separately, while individual networks can experience sharp changes in activity over relatively short periods.

For Solana, the latest figures indicate that tokenized commodities are becoming another meaningful source of onchain trading activity alongside memecoins, equities, ETFs and other real-world assets.
Solana's Role in Tokenized Commodities Continues to Develop
Solana's move to the top of weekly tokenized commodities spot volume marks a new milestone for the network's real-world asset ecosystem.
The network generated approximately $91.1 million in weekly tokenized commodities volume, representing 28% of the tracked market and placing it ahead of Robinhood's $81.3 million. At the same time, Solana's tokenized commodity supply remained below its August peak of $50.5 million.
Gold continues to dominate the tokenized commodities sector, while Solana is expanding the infrastructure available for these assets to trade and move across wallets and DeFi applications.
The September 21–27 data therefore points to a growing role for Solana in tokenized commodity markets, while the broader development of tokenized real-world assets suggests that commodity trading is becoming one part of a much larger onchain financial ecosystem.
